he Bologna Process has established the principles of quality management as the basis for higher education in Europe. These apply to the entire university community, and in particular to those in charge of teaching. The goal of continuous improvement through meeting measurable objectives is achieved through established procedures and instruments.
Universities have committees, made up of lecturers and students, which are in charge of overseeing quality in the development and management of education.
Meanwhile, the degrees themselves have been designed with their own Quality Assurance System, in line with Royal Decree 1393/2007.
The Quality Assurance System establishes a series of mechanisms designed to ensure and enhance quality in teaching and learning processes:
- Procedures to evaluate and improve the quality of teaching and among teaching staff.
- Procedures to guarantee the quality of external practical experience and mobility programs.
- Procedures to analyse the recruitment of graduates into employment and their level of satisfaction with the education they received.
- Procedures to analyse the satisfaction of various groups involved (students, academic, administrative and services staff, etc.) and how suggestions or complaints have been responded to.
